DENVER – As Colorado contends with a deep economic downturn caused by a global pandemic, the Colorado Energy Foundation, which is supported by Colorado’s oil and natural gas industry, announces a donation of $37,500 to Oilfield Helping Hands.

Oilfield Helping Hands (OHH) is a volunteer-driven organization established in 2003 to support families facing unexpected hardship from illness, natural disaster, or injury. To date, OHH has provided more than $5.2 million to industry workers and their families and continues to work in the most economical fashion to maximize the funds available to recipients each year.

“Oilfield Helping Hands is devoted to providing financial assistance to oilfield workers in financial crisis. Since our inception in 2003, we have distributed more than $5 million in financial aid. We are excited to work with COGA and the CEF to provide even more support to our oilfield family, as well as help to educate others about our great industry,” said Oilfield Helping Hands volunteer and board President, Sally Hallingstad.

“Oil and natural gas workers provide the fuel that drives our economy and supports our daily lives. These hardworking men and women are also family. It’s important they get the support they need, when they need it, especially in times of crisis. COGA is proud to partner with Oilfield Helping Hands and the volunteers who provide financial assistance and security for the oil and natural gas community,” said Dan Haley, President and CEO of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association.

Director of the Colorado Energy Foundation Sara Reynolds added: “During unprecedent times of economic uncertainty such as this, financial insecurity is a concern that many are facing no matter the industry. Thanks to Oilfield Helping Hands, many of those working in the oil and natural gas industry have access to a support network that assists families dealing with unexpected hardships.”

The Colorado Energy Foundation has raised over $150,000 in 2020 to be distributed to its cohort of community partners on behalf of the oil and natural gas industry.

Oilfield Helping Hands supporters donate their time, money, and hearts toward achieving the organization’s mission of helping oilfield families in need. Consider donating to OHH here, and make a difference in the life of an oilfield family.
